Captain ROY, nickname JMR, born Dec 17th 1956, is one of the most expert Airbus Technical Pilots in the world.

With over 40 years of experience flying turboprops and heavy jet airliners, JMR has more than 12600 flying hours and 3000 hours of Full Flight Simulator time.

JMR retired from Airbus as a Test Pilot after 40 years working for Airbus and ATR successively as:

  • Airbus Flight Operations Engineer
  • ATR VP Training and Flight Operations Engineering
  • Airbus China Training Center chief pilot
  • Airbus Test Pilot in Hamburg production center
  • Head of Airbus Training policy
  • Airbus VP Training and Flight Operations Engineering
  • Airbus Senior Test Pilot in Toulouse Flight Test Center

JMR has been involved in the development of ATR 42 and 72, Airbus A380 and A350.
With these aircraft, he did participate to numerous airshows (Paris, Farnborough, Singapour, Dubai…) and flight demonstrations around the world.

JMR was the Airbus Test pilot who did create Airbus Technical Flight Familiarisation (TFF) course to train operators to perform safely and efficiently Maintenance Check Flights.

JMR did receive an Aviation Week Award in 2019 for his work on Airbus Flying References based on Trajectory and Energy.

JMR has a valid EASA pilot licence with Class 1 medical.

He is qualified on A320, A330/A350, A380 as Type Rating Instructor, with a Flight Test rating.
